Catering Assistant Location: St Augustine’s Catholic High School, Stonepits Ln, Hunt End, Redditch B97 5LX Pay: £12.71 per hour Hours:15 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 11am-14.00pm - must be flexible. Contract: Term Time Only – 38 weeks, Permanent, Part Time Please note: A full UK driving licence is required for this role, as you will be required to drive a Sodexo vehicle to support catering operations at our nearby school site, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School. About the Role As a Catering Assistant , you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of our school catering service. You’ll assist with preparing and serving food, supporting daily service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and creating a positive experience for pupils, staff, and visitors. You’ll also support our nearby school site, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School , by driving a Sodexo van between locations when required to support catering operations. This may include assisting with food service, transporting items, completing washing up duties, and helping maintain excellent standards across both sites. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, helping deliver great food and service while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always maintained. What You’ll Do Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages. Support daily lunch service, ensuring pupils and staff receive a friendly and efficient service. Drive a Sodexo van to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School to support catering operations when required. Assist with food service across both school sites. Complete washing up duties and maintain clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen areas. Carry out general cleaning duties within the catering environment. Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service areas, and equipment. Replenish food displays and service counters as required. Support deliveries, stock movement, and storage of supplies. Follow food hygiene, allergen, health and safety, and company procedures. Provide a welcoming and helpful service to pupils, staff, colleagues, and visitors.
