Chef – Indian Fusion Breakfast & Lunch Concept Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and creative Chef to lead our kitchen team and develop an exciting Indian fusion breakfast and lunch menu for Rikshawaz Clay Cross, Chesterfield. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine combined with modern fusion techniques, capable of creating high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency, quality, and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, prepare, and deliver a wide range of Indian fusion breakfast and lunch dishes, including traditional Indian favourites, street food, snacks, sweets, and modern fusion creations. • Take full responsibility for kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service during busy breakfast and lunch periods. • Manage, motivate, and train kitchen staff, including junior chefs, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency. • Create innovative menus for daily specials, seasonal offers, celebrations, and special occasions while maintaining the identity of Rikshawaz Clay Cross, Chesterfield. • Ensure all food is prepared according to standard recipes, portion control guidelines, and quality specifications with minimum wastage. • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations and Rikshawaz standards. • Manage high-volume food production and support future growth and expansion of the business. • Work closely with management on menu development, ingredient sourcing, food costs, and weekly kitchen planning. • Monitor stock levels, inspect deliveries and raw materials, manage ordering requirements, and complete regular stock checks. • Control food costs by managing portion sizes, reducing wastage, and maintaining accurate wastage records. • Allocate daily responsibilities to kitchen team members and ensure efficient workflow. • Handle customer feedback and food-related complaints professionally. • Maintain excellent knowledge of food allergies, hygiene practices, and safe food handling procedures. Experience Required: • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Chef, with proven experience in Indian cuisine. • Strong experience in preparing Indian breakfast, lunch menus, street food, sweets, and fusion dishes. • Experience managing a kitchen team and working in a busy restaurant environment. Qualification: Hotel Management qualification preferred but not essential. Strong practical experience and proven kitchen leadership skills will be considered.
