About the role
Passionate about children and nutritious cooking? Then we have just the job for you! We are looking for a part time chef to join our excellent nursery/preschool team. As the nursery chef you would be responsible for preparing and cooking healthy, balanced meals for all the children, making adaptations where necessary based on individual dietary requirements. This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Certificate. CHEF’S RESPONSIBILITIES... Preparing a fun, inspiring, and healthy lunch, snack, and tea menu for our little marvels, Monday - Friday Taking account of child allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements Managing the kitchen budget and ensuring appropriate portion sizes (we hate waste!) Ensuring Environmental Health and Food Hygiene standards are followed and appropriate records kept Making the kitchen a clean and safe space Placing appropriate food orders online Engaging with our practitioners and children to promote healthy eating and Having Fun! Willingness to undertake further training and /or annual training as required WE’RE LOOKING FOR... 2 years prior experience in a school, nursery, or other commercial setting Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and knowledge of allergens Bags of positive energy, a big smile and a passion for helping children get the best start to their education! The position is subject to enhanced DBS check
