What You Will Do: Prepare and cook high‑quality dishes, ensuring every meal is delivered to an excellent standard and served at the correct temperature. Support the Head Chef and wider team with daily food preparation, maintaining smooth service during busy, high‑volume periods. Receive and check deliveries, store ingredients correctly, and follow stock rotation procedures (including FIFO) to maintain freshness and reduce waste. Maintain exceptional hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in line with company policies and legal requirements. Work collaboratively with your team to create a positive, supportive kitchen environment for both colleagues and the school community. Assist with school events, themed days, and special functions, which may occasionally fall outside normal working hours. Provide a friendly, professional, and approachable service to students, staff, and visitors. Follow portion control guidelines and support sustainable, cost‑effective catering practices. Contribute ideas for menu improvements, service enhancements, and ways to elevate the overall dining experience. What You Bring: A passion for cooking and a positive, can‑do attitude within a professional kitchen environment. Strong communication and organisational skills, with confidence managing your section during high‑volume service. The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and attention to detail. A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn, develop, and contribute creative ideas. At least 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role is essential; experience in school or contract catering is advantageous. An Enhanced DBS check will be completed for this role.
