Chef Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital, TA2 6AN 6 month fixed-term contract £14.00 per hour + Sodexo Benefits 37.5 Hours per week | 5 days out of 7 Working hours/shifts: Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm OR 11:00 am to 7:00 pm | Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm | Sunday 8:00 am to 1:30 pm Check your local transport links here: Plan Your Journey | Traveline - the destination you should input is: TA2 6AN What you’ll do: As part of our team, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality catering service while creating a positive experience for customers and colleagues alike. Your responsibilities will include: Ordering supplies in line with Sodexo policies, using approved suppliers and maintaining effective stock control. Ensuring kitchen and service areas are clean, safe, and welcoming, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Completing all compliance checks, records, and documentation accurately and on time. Supporting successful outcomes in internal and external audits through strong operational standards. Leading, coaching, and developing team members to deliver outstanding service every day. Building positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders through clear communication and a collaborative approach. Remaining adaptable, organised, and professional in a fast-paced environment, while promoting safeguarding, health, and safety, and inclusive working practices What you bring: Strong written and spoken English communication skills. A Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable). Previous experience in a high-volume catering environment, ideally around three years or more. Experience leading, motivating, and developing teams. Excellent culinary knowledge and practical cooking skills. A professional approach with high standards of personal presentation. Knowledge of food allergies, special dietary requirements, and food labelling regulations. An awareness of current food trends and industry developments, with a passion for continuous improvement.
