About the role

Our purpose built, luxury 67-bed care facility is located in the charming town of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. We are proud to provide a range of services which includes Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite & Palliative Care. Dayshift Cook (No Evenings) | Mearns View Care Home | Newton Mearns £13.50 per hour | 4 days per week | 7:00am–5:30pm | No Evenings or Split Shifts At Mearns View Care Home, you'll work a consistent day shift pattern with no late evenings, no split shifts, and no night working, giving you more time for family, hobbies and life outside of work. Our purpose-built, luxury 67-bed care home in Newton Mearns provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care within a warm, supportive environment. Contract £13.50 per hour Fixed contract: 4 days per week (7:00am–5:30pm) No evening shifts or split shifts PVG Pension scheme Uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time hours) About the Role As our Cook, you'll play an important part in creating nutritious, high-quality meals that bring comfort, enjoyment and wellbeing to our residents every day. Using fresh ingredients, you'll prepare and serve balanced meals that cater to individual dietary requirements and personal preferences, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious, well-presented meals Cater for individual dietary needs and preferences Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety Support menu planning and meal variety Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and safely Work collaboratively with the wider care home team What We're Looking For Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and organisational skills A positive, reliable and caring approach About us Mearns View Care Home is part of Care Concern Group, a family-owned, market-leading care provider with a strong and growing presence across the UK.
