What skills and experience we're looking for We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Cook to join our Academy team, with responsibility for preparing and cooking nutritious, well‑balanced meals for our pupils in a safe, efficient and welcoming environment. This is a key role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing and readiness to learn by providing high‑quality food that meets nutritional standards and individual needs. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, well‑organised and well‑stocked kitchen, working within agreed budgets and adhering rigorously to food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding requirements. You will be proactive in menu planning, stock control and compliance, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands the vital part good nutrition plays in supporting positive outcomes for children and young people. We provide education for vulnerable pupils aged 4 – 19 across Devon and Cornwall. The Trust has a national reputation for the delivery of outstanding pupil outcomes including enabling pupils to access the most appropriate education setting and transition to employment, training and higher or further education. The Trust educates over 1000 pupils and employs over 350 members of staff.
