About the role

A professional couple based in the highly sought-after area of Chelsea, London, is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly organised Part-Time Housekeeper to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day upkeep of their private residence. Chelsea offers an attractive and refined working environment, renowned for its elegant residential streets, excellent local amenities, and convenient transport connections. The principals live in a lovely, well-presented three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that is comfortable, thoughtfully maintained, and manageable in size. They are looking for a capable Housekeeper who will take genuine pride in preserving the property’s welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that it remains immaculate, orderly, and beautifully cared for at all times. There are no young children or pets at the property, which allows for even greater flexibility and balance. Both principals have demanding professional schedules and generally leave the residence by 9:00 AM, returning late in the evening. The successful candidate will therefore be trusted to work independently, manage their time effectively, and ensure that all agreed duties are completed to a consistently high standard without the need for close supervision. Reliability, diligence, and attention to detail are particularly important in this position. The family travels frequently and requires someone who can confidently manage packing and unpacking, keep track of clothing and personal belongings, and ensure that nothing is misplaced or overlooked. The Housekeeper must have excellent knowledge of garment care, laundry procedures, ironing, fabric labels, and appropriate dry-cleaning requirements. The principals are seeking someone who understands how to care for valuable and delicate items and who will approach every task carefully. Alongside general housekeeping and laundry duties, the role may occasionally include preparing simple evening meals. The family enjoys traditional English and European-style home cooking and prefers uncomplicated, lightly seasoned dishes rather than heavily spiced cuisine. Cooking is not a core requirement of the position but would be considered a welcome additional skill. The role will operate Monday to Friday, with approximately four to six working hours per day. The family can offer some flexibility regarding the precise schedule, provided that the agreed duties are completed reliably and to a high standard. Additional hours may occasionally be required when the principals are preparing to travel, returning from a trip, or needing extra household support. This position would suit a professional Housekeeper who is conscientious, trustworthy, proactive, and committed to providing long-term consistency. The successful candidate will understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality and will be confident managing the residence while the principals are at work or travelling. Type: Part-Time, Permanent, Live-Out Working Days: Monday to Friday Working Hours: 4–6 hours per day Language: Good spoken English is essential Children: No dependent children residing at the property Pets: No Salary: £20–£25 per hour gross Location: Chelsea, London Starting Date: 1 September 2026 Duties & Responsibilities Maintaining the three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence to a consistently high standard General cleaning, tidying, and presentation of bedrooms, bathrooms, reception areas, and the kitchen Managing all household laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, bed linen, and towels Providing careful and knowledgeable care of garments, delicate fabrics, and valuable clothing Coordinating dry-cleaning collections and ensuring all items are treated appropriately Maintaining organised wardrobes, cupboards, drawers, and household storage areas Packing and unpacking for the principals’ frequent travel and keeping track of personal belongings Receiving deliveries and liaising reliably with couriers, suppliers, and service providers Monitoring and restocking household, laundry, and cleaning supplies Occasionally preparing simple, lightly-seasoned English or European-style meals, where required Providing additional support before and after the principals’ trips Maintaining discretion, confidentiality, and the highest professional standards at all times
