We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Assistant Cook to join our warm and dedicated catering team within our Extra Care housing scheme in Gorseinon. 23 hours per week (10:00am–2:00pm, Sunday to Friday) This is your opportunity to be part of a highly respected extra care service, known for its compassion, quality, and resident-focused approach. About the role You’ll be based in a 45-bed Extra Care service supporting people aged 55+ who live independently in self-contained flats, including individuals with varying needs such as dementia. As an Assistant Cook, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, home-style meals tailored to their needs, while creating positive and meaningful mealtime experiences. What You’ll Be Doing Preparing, cooking, reheating and serving nutritious and delicious meals, including special diets Supporting the full mealtime process: ordering, storage, preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and infection control Creating a friendly and engaging dining experience by interacting with residents Providing support at mealtimes with dignity and respect where required Skills and Experience Needed Please make sure your application demonstrates: Experience working in a professional kitchen environment Level 2 Food Hygiene (desirable – full training provided) Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills Strong teamwork and customer service skills Values At Codi, our values are Compassionate, Authentic, and Progressive.
