Kitchen Assistant – Part-Time | Danygraig Care Home, Porthcawl, CF36 5SR £12.71 per hour 18 hours per week Shift Pattern 3 x 6-hour shifts per week Shift times: 08:00–14:00 or 12:00–18:00 Three-week rolling rota, including 1 in 3 weekends Please note: Full flexibility is essential for this role. Due to the needs of the service, fixed working days cannot be guaranteed. Our catering team plays a vital role in supporting residents through nutritious, well-presented meals and a positive dining experience every day. Main Duties & Responsibilities Food Preparation & Meal Service Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties Support the Chef with meal preparation and service Help ensure meals are served safely and in accordance with dietary requirements Maintain high standards of presentation and food quality Kitchen Hygiene & Safety Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas Wash and store crockery, utensils and equipment appropriately Follow all Food Hygiene, Infection Control and Health & Safety procedures Stock & Supplies Assist with receiving and storing deliveries Support stock rotation and help minimise waste Report any shortages or concerns to the Chef What We're Looking For Essential: Previous experience working within a professional kitchen, catering environment or similar role A reliable and dependable approach to work Good timekeeping and attendance Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment Flexibility to work the rota, including weekends Desirable: Experience working within a care home, healthcare or hospitality setting Food Hygiene qualification (training can be provided) Why Join My Choice Healthcare?
