About the role

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at Hove Village Day Nursery This role would suit anybody that has experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Chef. Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene/Food Safety Previous experience working in a busy kitchen Knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work effectively as part of a team Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children First Aid and CPR certification (preferred) Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation governing childcare (e.g., Safeguarding) Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Opportunities for professional development and training Supportive work environment with a friendly team Paid time holidays Company Pension scheme Duties: Provide high-quality assistance to the Kitchen team in preparing nutritious meals for children aged 0-5 Assist with in-room lunch service and food-based activities, ensuring they are stimulating and engaging Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow Collaborate with other staff members to support children's individual needs Assist with ensuring the kitchen is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children and staff If you are passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives, we would love to hear from you.
