Job title: Kitchen Assistant (L1Z2) Job Category: Catering & Hospitality Location: Wrotham Road, Agar Grove, London, Camden, NW1 9SU, Camden Council Hours per week 20 Salary: £15.02 per hour To assist the cook in the following day to day kitchen tasks. To purchase, prepare, cook and serve meals as required. To ensure that all meals served are balanced and take into consideration all ethnic, reli ious and dieta needs of the clients and staff. Main Duties and Res onsibilities 1 . To support the cook in preparing the meats within the Early Years Centre. This will include preparation, cooking, serving out. To deliver drinks and meals to activity areas around the centre. To wash crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils either by hand or in a dishwasher and clean kitchen appliances where appropriate. To note when stocks of provisions need ordering and refer to cook so orders can be placed. To take reasonable care for the safety of all cleaning machines. To have day to day contact with clients of the establishment, being sensitive to their needs and reporting any concerns to senior officers. To provide cover for the cook in the event of an absence. To undertake any other such duties within the centre, that are commensurate with the nature of �ob and rade. Knowledge: Essential: Knowledge of food hygiene Knowledge of basic health & safety requirements. Knowledge & ability to prepare, cook and serve meals within the Centre. Knowledge ability to maintain a clean, healthy and organised environment. Knowledge of stock control. Knowledge and ability to wash crocke , cutle and cookin utensils Skills and Behaviours: Essential: Post holder will work together as part of a team, focus on the needs of children in the Centre and take responsibility for the tasks listed above. Relevant Experience: Where experience is considered as necessary the length of experience should not normally be stated, as it will demonstrate quantity and not quality. However, for some technical and senior roles it may be necessary to state a minimum period of experience as an indication of exposure in the necessary field of work. Essential: � Experience of working in a kitchen environment.
