As a Kitchen Porter with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, working behind the scenes to support our chefs and ensure every dish is served to the highest standard. What you’ll do: Deliver a high-quality food and beverage service to patients and visitors, ensuring a positive customer experience at all times. Accurately take meal and refreshment orders, recording and communicating any dietary requirements or allergies. Prepare and present patient meal trays, ensuring orders are assembled correctly and delivered promptly. Assist patients with meal service where required, providing a friendly, professional and compassionate approach. Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and infection prevention standards across ward kitchens, preparation areas and dishwashing facilities. Support kitchen operations with food preparation, stock rotation, replenishment and cleaning duties. Complete required records, audits and compliance documentation, reporting any equipment issues or service concerns to your manage What you bring: Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, healthcare or food service environment would be beneficial, but full training will be provided A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with patients, visitors and colleagues. Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling dietary requirements, allergies and meal preparation. Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and follow procedures accurately. A positive, flexible and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to support different areas of the catering operation. A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, confidentiality and quality at all times.
