Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Seasonal Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team from November 2026 through to April 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while working with a passionate team in a busy hotel environment during our peak season.

About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality food across our restaurant, room service, and event operations. You will work closely with our experienced chefs to maintain Hilton's standards of excellence and contribute to an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Hilton standards and recipes.
  • Assist with food preparation, service, and kitchen operations.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Support stock rotation, storage, and inventory control procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods

  • We are looking for someone who: Has a passion for food and hospitality. Holds relevant culinary qualifications or is currently completing them. Has previous kitchen experience (hotel or restaurant experience is advantageous). Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well under pressure. Is flexible to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
