As a Commis Chef, you’re not just preparing great tasting food items – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
- Prepare and set up kitchen equipment and workstations before service. Assemble and prepare ingredients required for daily menu items. Prepare simple food items in accordance with recipes and standards. Assist in preparing food for service to ensure timely delivery. Follow portion control guidelines and presentation standards. Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries according to FIFO and food safety guidelines. Maintain clean and organized storage areas at all times. Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and workstations after use. Handle waste, recycling, and linen in accordance with hygiene procedures. Work a flexible schedule based on operational requirements. Maintain a hygienic work environment and high standards of personal hygiene. Adhere strictly to all Food Safety Standards and Personal Hygiene Rules. Complete and monitor Food Safety Checklists in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with HACCP and internal safety protocols. Attend all kitchen briefings and actively participate. Participate in onthejob training and skill development sessions. Support senior chefs as required and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
