You are the Master of your culinary station, creating delicious dishes guests love. As a Pastry Chef, you’re not just creating show-stopping desserts – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

  • Assist pastry operations: Responsible for the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, cost controls, and overall profitability
  • Enhance menu offerings: Work closely with the Senior Chef de Partie and Culinary Director to execute and enhance pastry offerings and seasonal menus based on current food trends and local tastes
  • Delight our guests: Engage with guests and clients to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and support initiatives that enhance the pastry experience.
  • Monitor financial performance: Assist with the budget management, forecasting, and reporting to help achieve financial targets and ensure pastry operations align with the hotel’s goals.
  • Ensure operational efficiency: Follow established pastry kitchen systems, processes, and workflows to support smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure regulatory excellence: Uphold compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, fostering a culture committed to the highest standards of guest and team member well-being.

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications: High school qualification or equivalent. Minimum 2 years' experience in a pastry kitchen, hotel, bakery, or high-quality restaurant. Formal culinary training or hospitality qualification preferred. Sound knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and food presentation. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, storage, and receiving procedures. Recognised Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Clear and professional communication skills.
