Australian Camp Services is seeking an experienced Bistro Chef to join our hospitality team in Cabramurra. This hands-on role suits a versatile chef who can move confidently between à la carte cook-to-order service and efficient ready-meal preparation while maintaining consistent quality, presentation and food-safety standards.
The Role
- Prepare and cook à la carte bistro meals to order in a timely and consistent manner.
- Produce high-quality ready meals and support planned breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
- Complete mise en place, portioning, batch cooking and service preparation to meet daily demand.
- Maintain strong standards for flavour, presentation, portion control and consistency.
- Follow food-safety, allergen, hygiene, cleaning and temperature-control requirements.
- Manage stock rotation, minimise waste and keep kitchen areas organised and service-ready.
- Work collaboratively within a small, multi-skilled hospitality team and assist across kitchen operations when required.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a chef in a bistro, restaurant, café, catering or similar high-volume environment.
- Strong à la carte cook-to-order skills, including the ability to manage multiple dockets and service priorities.
- Experience preparing ready meals or batch-cooked meals with consistent portioning and presentation.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, safe food handling, allergen awareness and kitchen hygiene.
- Good organisation, time management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- A flexible, practical approach and willingness to contribute as part of a close-knit site team.
- Commercial cookery qualification and relevant food-safety training appropriate to the role.
Roster and Requirements
- Drive-in drive-out role working seven days on followed by seven days off, with approximately 80 hours during the working week.
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for travel to Cabramurra.
- Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
