Job description

Get Golfing CIO, a charity that supports struggling English golf facilities, is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will report to the Head Chef and work alongside a talented culinary team to produce high-quality dishes for our members and visitors. Get Golfing currently owns and operates 11 sites with 6,000 members and over 130,000 unique visitors each year. Our annual revenues are circa £17 million, which are re-invested back into our venues and our staff's careers. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in developing and implementing menus that align with our high standards and innovative culinary vision.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate dishes in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the kitchen staff in the Head Chef's absence to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and speed of service.
  • Ensure food preparation and storage comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Minimize waste and maintain food costs by adhering to portion control guidelines and proper inventory management.
  • Uphold highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
  • Continuously expand current knowledge of culinary trends and techniques to introduce new menu items and flavors.

Requirements

Employer-listed

  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Former experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role preferred. Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field. Solid knowledge of culinary techniques and tools. Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and fast-paced environment. Outstanding leadership, time management, and communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
