About the Role

The Assistant Cook (Pastry) is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of pastries, desserts, breads, and bakery items in accordance with the resort's standards. The role supports the pastry team in daily mise en place, maintains high levels of hygiene and food safety, and contributes to delivering exceptional culinary experiences for guests.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and buffet items.Prepare ingredients and mise en place required for daily operations.
• Follow recipes, specifications, and presentation standards consistently.
• Ensure all food items are prepared and stored according to HACCP and food safety standards.
• Label and store food correctly using FIFO procedures.Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Assist with receiving and checking the quality of food supplies and ingredients.
• Support the pastry team during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.Monitor food quality and report any issues to the Pastry Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Minimize food wastage and handle ingredients responsibly.Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure all utensils, equipment, and work areas are cleaned before and after service.
• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.Assist with inventory checks as required.
• Attend departmental training and briefings.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

About You

School Certificate (SC), Higher School Certificate (HSC), or equivalent.Professional culinary or pastry certification is an advantage.Valid Food Handler's Certificate.
