ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a passionate and skilled Prep Cook , responsible for supporting the vision, culture and success of Bow & Bend through the preparation of meals, cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, etc. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of enthusiasm and desire to continuously learn and develop, elevating their culinary abilities in order to ensure the highest level of food creativity & quality. Primary accountabilities include: Consistently providing the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike. Cook food items such as meats, entrees, vegetables, gravies, eggs, etc., according to a preassigned schedule. Assist with preparation and production of menu items following standardized recipes and procedures, and using equipment such as grills, fryolaters, steamers, ranges, broilers, steam kettles, and ovens. Use mixers, slicers, and choppers in preparation of recipes and food for service. Follow safety/sanitation procedures in the handling of food/equipment. Serve and dish up foods, adhering to standardized portions, as required. Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions. ABOUT YOU A culinary professional with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city center. Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety. FoodSafe certification. Strong knife skills and workable knowledge of various kitchen equipment. Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions. Energetic with a passion for food. Able to follow oral and written instructions. Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration. Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
