About the role

The Executive Sous Chef at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi supports the Director of Culinary in overseeing all culinary operations, driving excellence across the resort’s dining venues through strong leadership, creativity, and operational expertise. The role is responsible for fostering a highly skilled kitchen team, contributing to innovative menu development, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. As a key member of the Culinary Leadership Team, the Executive Sous Chef plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that enhance the overall guest journey. Working closely with the Director of Culinary, this position helps maintain outstanding culinary standards, operational efficiency, and a culture of excellence, recognizing that exceptional food and beverage experiences are fundamental to the resort’s success and guest satisfaction Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Hilton’s luxury brand, is renowned for exceptional service, culinary excellence, and iconic destinations worldwide. Strong leadership skills and ability to operate and successfully arbitrate in a complex international and multicultural environment. Excellent Team Member relations and problem-solving skills. Able to handle a kitchen operation catering in fast phase Good planning and execution skills with ability to be persistent while focusing on detailed elements of tasks. Excellent time management, organizational, communication and motivational skills. Have impeccable follow-through. Organizes staffing effectively in situations of sudden increases in catering volume and other contingencies. Accustomed to and comfortable with media exposure Candidate must have a good command of spoken and written English. Pays attention to details and have strong customer service skills. Mature, meticulous, resourceful, organized and able to work independently. Have impeccable follow-through and “Can Do” attitude and mindset. Pre-opening experience in a luxury resort/hotel is an advantage Prior work experience in 5-star luxury resort?
