The Opportunity We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Steward to join our Culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring our chefs have the equipment and support they need to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Working closely with the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across all kitchen and back-of-house areas, operating dishwashing equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Your contribution will be essential to the smooth operation of the kitchen and the overall success of our service. Key Accountabilities Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen, stewarding, and back-of-house areas. Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly. Assist with the removal of rubbish, recycling, and waste in accordance with hotel procedures. Support chefs with basic kitchen cleaning and operational tasks as required. Ensure adequate stock of clean kitchen equipment is available throughout service periods. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness in line with hotel policies. Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with WHS guidelines. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required. Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment. Profile Previous experience in a stewarding, kitchen hand, or hospitality role is preferred. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and safe work practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong work ethic with a proactive and reliable attitude. Physically capable of manual handling, standing for extended periods, and lifting kitchen equipment. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation. Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Full working rights in Australia.
