OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE ROLE: Prepare and present sushi and other Japanese dishes in line with recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Ensure food quality, freshness, consistency, and proper portion control at all times. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in accordance with company and HACCP standards. Monitor food stock levels, minimize waste, and inform the Chef of excess or low-stock items. Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper storage and handling of food products. Maintain food production records and temperature logs as required. Communicate effectively with the culinary and service teams regarding menu specials, guest requirements, and operational needs. Support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods and contribute to an exceptional guest dining experience. Report equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department. Candidate Profile Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a Japanese cuisine kitchen within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant preferably. Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards preferable. Passion for culinary excellence and delivering memorable guest experiences. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
