We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chef de Partie to join our professional kitchen team at Baxterstorey in Cork, Ireland. As a Chef de Partie, you will take responsibility for managing your designated station whilst maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety. You will work collaboratively within our kitchen brigade to deliver exceptional culinary experiences, demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence in every service. Manage and oversee your assigned station, ensuring all mise en place is prepared to the required standard before service commences • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and plating standards, maintaining consistency and quality Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques, food safety, and station procedures • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP protocols and company standards • Monitor portion control and food costing to ensure profitability and waste minimisation • Communicate effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at your station • Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements based on culinary expertise and seasonal availability • Manage stock rotation and report on ingredient requirements for your station • Support the kitchen team during peak service periods, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving abilities Proven experience working as a Chef de Partie or equivalent senior kitchen position in a professional catering environment • Strong culinary knowledge and expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating standards • Comprehensive understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP principles Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate junior kitchen staff • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team Knowledge of portion control, food costing, and inventory management • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and quality • Flexibility and adaptability to changing service demands and menu requirements • Experience with diverse cuisines and advanced culinary techniques (desirable) • Recognised food safety certification or willingness to obtain one (desirable) For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that’s an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
