We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at White Bull Tavern Roma, with the role commencing in December but there is an opportunity to start immediately and work at another nearby venue before transitioning into the role.
Located in the heart of Roma, White Bull Tavern is a welcoming local pub offering a broad menu of hearty pub favourites, pizzas, pasta, roasts and slow-cooked dishes, along with functions and a busy family-friendly atmosphere.
The Opportunity
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team, maintain high food standards and help deliver a consistent service across a busy pub kitchen.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Leading and mentoring the kitchen team during service
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
- Assisting with menu preparation, stock control and ordering
- Ensuring food safety and kitchen compliance standards are maintained
- Helping manage kitchen costs, wastage and portion control
- Training and developing junior chefs
- Keeping the kitchen organised, clean and running efficiently
- Stepping up and taking charge of the kitchen when required

About You
We’re looking for a Sous Chef who is confident running a busy kitchen and enjoys being hands-on during service.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior CDP ready to step up
- Experience in a busy pub, bistro or similar commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Good communication and leadership skills
- The ability to work well under pressure
- A hands-on approach and positive attitude
- A passion for producing quality food and maintaining high standards
- The flexibility to work across a range of services
