Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside is looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, and is keen to learn and develop their hospitality skills. Job Description As a Kitchen Hand, you'll play an important role in supporting our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team. Your responsibilities will include: Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and organised Assisting chefs with basic food preparation Preparing and cleaning kitchen equipment Ensuring dishes, utensils and equipment are available when needed Keeping kitchen areas, floors and storage areas clean Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards Supporting the kitchen team during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services Completing other general kitchen duties as required Qualifications We're looking for someone who: Is reliable, punctual and has a great work ethic Can work well as part of a team Is comfortable working in a busy environment Has a positive, can-do attitude Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation Is physically fit and comfortable being on their feet Has good attention to detail Is available to work a range hours, with shifts rostered across 7 days a week , including weekends and public holidays as required. Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage, but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right person.
