Job description
BERN LLC, located in Woodstock, VT, seeks full-time, temporary line cooks with the description and requirements as below. Line Cooks are responsible for the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of a variety of menu items, including but not limited to pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts. Duties include setting up workstations, preparing ingredients, and ensuring cleanliness before, during, and after service, including washing dishes and utensils used in food preparation. Line Cooks will create daily specials, assist with ordering inventory, manage order placement and receipt, and perform trash removal duties. They will also serve as an expediter between the kitchen and the front of the house, communicating information regarding dish ingredients, availability, and preparation times for service staff. Line Cooks must maintain a professional, steady presence during high-volume periods. They must report to the owner, chef, and manager as needed and follow all kitchen protocols. Requirements: Applicant must: - Complete pre-employment background check. - Be able to provide at least one reference for prior work experience. - At least 3 months of restaurant cooking experience. - Be able to communicate in English.

- The anticipated start date is October 1, 2026 with an end date of April 30, 2027. The geographic area of intended
- employment is Woodstock, Vermont. On-the-job training is provided. The employer will make all deductions from the workers paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last workweek. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances
- involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The employer will reimburse the worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the worker. The employer will also provide to the H-2B workers, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the
